Every year, we celebrate World Environment Day<\/strong> on 5th June. This event, created by the United Nations <\/strong>in 1972, highlights a specific environmental issue in order to raise awareness. Hotel Trianon Rive Gauche<\/strong> is an eco-friendly hotel<\/strong> that acts in favour of sustainable development<\/strong> by taking steps to protect the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the aim of World Environment Day?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

World Environment Day<\/strong> is a major event held in a different country every year to raise awareness<\/strong> of the major environmental issues facing the world. The aim of this day is to teach people what they can do to make a positive contribution to sustainable and equitable development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone can play a part in sustainable development<\/strong>: local authorities, governments, schools, individuals\u2026 and hotels <\/strong>too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can we protect the environment?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our eco-friendly hotel<\/strong> works hard every day to protect the environment. Located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris<\/strong>, in Saint Germain des Pr\u00e9s<\/strong> and in the Latin Quarter<\/strong>, our hotel in Paris centre<\/a><\/strong> demonstrates its commitment to the environment by obtaining European Ecolabel certification<\/strong>, as well as the international Clef Verte label<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25cf For sustainable water consumption<\/strong>, bath towels are changed at the customer’s request. If they want clean linen, they have to leave it on the bathroom floor. Also, water aerators have been placed in the bathrooms, significantly reducing the flow rate and therefore water consumption<\/strong>.
\u25cf To reduce our plastic pollution, individual packaging is being replaced by soap dispensers <\/strong>for body and hair. Also, glass water bottles <\/strong>are available to our guests to reduce their plastic consumption during their stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25cf Nespresso capsules are recycled a<\/strong>nd taken to the shop for reconditioning<\/strong>.
\u25cf Butter, jam, sugar, honey and spreads are stored in large containers<\/strong>. No more individual packaging!
\u25cf Products that cannot be put into large packs are fair trade<\/strong> or organic<\/strong>. Such as sugar, coffee and tea in rooms, or our local and organic honey<\/strong>.
\u25cf To limit waste production and consumption, orange juice is squeezed on site<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25cf Waste sorting<\/strong>: light bulbs, batteries, ink cartridges, toners.
\u25cf To reduce our plastic consumption, cleaning product bottles are refillable<\/strong>.
\u25cf The cleaning and maintenance team now uses only 3 cleaning products<\/strong>, which are more natural and environmentally friendly<\/strong>.
\u25cf Hotel Trianon Rive Gauche is also committed to raising its employees’ awareness of sustainable development<\/strong> with annual ecological transition training courses<\/strong>. For example, speakers from ecological organisations such as Ecolabel<\/strong> have provided staff with the knowledge they need about the challenges of sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
