The origins of \u00cele de la Cit\u00e9<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u00cele de la Cit\u00e9<\/strong> used to be made up of three small islands<\/strong>: the \u00cele aux Juifs, the \u00cele aux vaches and the \u00celot de la Gourdaine. In 1607<\/strong>, the 3 islands were joined together to build the famous Pont Neuf <\/strong>and the Place Dauphine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These major transformations are the fruit of the Second Empire<\/strong>, and in particular of the Prefect of Haussmann<\/strong> who destroyed all the existing houses to make way for a set of buildings and large modern boulevards. The great works of Paris were a turning point in Parisian life. Hotel Trianon Rive Gauche is in fact a Haussmann building!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
